We offer two levels of prosthesis: a premium and a standard product.
We use local labs that work with us to create a natural and functional denture that will help restore a patient's level of activity and quality of life.
We understand that losing teeth is often a very emotional and scary dilemma for a patient, and can be a source of uncertainty as they transition into their prosthesis. If a patient is having tooth removal surgery then they will be given a healing denture at that time, so they are not without teeth through the healing process. This denture will be worn for several months and will need liners placed within the denture as the mouth heals. This healing step allows us to predictably make a final prosthesis that will fit and function for years to come.
If you have had a denture for years, you might have noticed that your denture does not fit as snugly as it once did. This can occur if a patient achieves significant weight loss or if a patient is losing the bone where the denture rests. In some patients, this bone loss is normal and can be continual, compromising the functionality and retention of the prosthesis. We offer options here in the office to help retain dentures and stop bone loss using implant dentistry. Implants greatly increase the functionality of dentures and allow the dentures to lock into place. Once placed, implants allow natural chewing forces to stimulate the bone and prevent further bone loss. Regardless of your need, we can help you with a solution at Wilmington Family Dental.
If you or someone you know would like to meet for a consultation regarding prosthetic options, contact our office.
